Widows AND Orphans

Good morning all!
I wanted to update you that we're still
waiting to hear from my finger prints.
They're running a name search
so I'm unsure of how long it will take.
Wanna know what I'm doing on the outside
(while I'm patiently waiting on the inside?)
I'm spending the day at the park
with James' first grade class.
The boys' end of the year activities
have kept me b-u-s-y. :)

God's also given me a little side project.
I've been feeding my shut in neighbor.
At first I just talked to her,
declined her out to lunch invites
and yes, even hid in the bathroom one day
while she rang the doorbell.
But while I was sitting in the bathroom floor,
God convicted me.
He very plainly stated that His word says to care for
the orphans AND the widows.
Um Yes Sir,
I'll get up out of the bathroom floor right now.
Needless to say we've been joyfully doing what we can.
The coolest part?
I've been slipping scripture in her meals and cards.

Wow, it's so wonderful to think that the work
I'm doing can impact the eternal life of others...
the orphans and the widows. :)

Now I'm off to shower and put on my CCPS t-shirt.
I'll keep you posted on the fingerprints!
God's blessings on your day friends, Sarah :D

Hey Sarah,
When I have started out trying to be a blessing to others, it seems like I always receive the biggest blessing in return. Your not only caring for your neighbor, your caring for Christ.

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers, you did for me." Matthew 25:31-46

In Christ,
Holli

What a cool ministry!!! When we lived in Virginia Beach our neighbor was an elderly Korean widow, and we reached out to be a blessing to her...and WE were blessed beyond measure!!!
